Outline plan of a project near Bath. This is the black and white drawing and I will add colour, usually wax pencils or pastels. The brief was about interest, privacy, wildlife and space for my client’s grandson to kick a football.
Planting design. Whether you’re having planting design only or as part of a whole garden design, I’ll put together my initial planting ideas, or ‘moods’, for your garden. It’s the start of the discussion process and really helps to clarify what you like, what’s possible in your garden and what will look great, too!
Planting plan. This design in Somerset is for a client who spent his childhood playing in wild and woodland places. The garden was already filled with trees, the large grey circles, so my planting echos that woodland and wild feel, whilst still being an easy to maintain town garden.
Plant maintenance for beginners. If you’re just starting your gardening journey, knowing what to do and when can be a little bewildering! I can give you easy to understand information on how to care for your plants. I’ll even come and visit to help guide you if you need a bit more confidence.
Different styles, same garden. These clients in North Somerset had moved house and brought a lot of their plants with them to their very empty, new small garden. This design was about the planting with space to sit and entertain. I added trees and shrubs to give structure and year round interest.
Both drawings are axonometric projections and are useful in showing planting design as you can see the whole space at once. It really helps to have a picture of what your garden could look like. My clients chose the curvy design!
